Tech Support with Linux & Windows - Southampton Tech Support Technician with experience and knowledge of both Linux and Windows is required. The successful candidate will have strong Linux experience in its use and the configuration of systems; a general knowledge of IP networking, routing and firewalls; understand the use and the basic configuration of Microsoft Windows; be familiar with PC hardware and the building of PCs; be able to describe solutions in simple terms for end-users; have an excellent telephone manner. The following experience would be beneficial: previous customer support; IP networking; VPN`s and IPSec in particular; and knowledge of software testing methodologies. Our client is a software developer with very high standards of customer service. This role is to provide telephone and email support to our client`s partner resellers and end-user customers, by investigating reported problems and liaising with the development team. There will also be a requirement of testing new software, reviewing manuals and documentation to improve usability, and writing knowledge base articles. This is an excellent opportunity to join a young highly motivated team that believes passionately in what it is doing. Salary will be in the low £20`s p.a., commensurate with skills and experience.
